One year ago today, Charlie Kirk was assassinated, killed by a bullet he didn’t deserve.

He was just one man and like any of us, he was not perfect. He was all about free speech and never advocated violence or harm in any way. He had opinions some people disagreed with, but he encouraged debate, especially with those who disagreed with him. He was killed at a debate event on a college campus.

But the case for murdering him had been made long before September 10, 2025 by people who follow an ideology that spurns debate and embraces violence to silence others. It is an authoritarian ideology that creates a herd or mob mentality and takes advantage of people’s emotions. It stirs them into rage or toxic empathy, controlling them by focusing on single targets, whether those are individuals or groups of people.

Many who follow this ideology are the same ones who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination. They were led to believe Kirk was racist, homophobic, and a fascist when none of that is true and the facts bare that out. He spoke respectfully to people of all races, sexualities, and opposing political viewpoints all the time. He stood up for his Christian and Bible-based morals. He died for those morals.

The ones who wanted him dead are calling today the “Kirkaversary.” They have made their own perverse memorial of hate to a man who is no longer alive to defend himself or his ideals. For some, it’s an extension of their hatred for Kirk. For others, it’s virtue signaling. And for a portion, it’s an excuse to party and get intoxicated. And in my opinion, all of it is evil.

There is no good that comes from any of it. A man is dead. His widow, Erika Kirk, has had her entire life upended, becoming the target of bizarre and savage conspiracies by an influential woman who claimed to be Charlie’s friend; the same woman who stirred her own followers to hate, despise, and send death threats to a widow raising two children without their father now.

And yet, God did allow this to happen. Some might wonder why? Of course, I don’t have all the answers and would never pretend to. But I know this much: Charlie Kirk was part of a spiritual conflict taking place in this world. He was just one man, but the videos of his college debates reached millions through social media. His efforts through the organization he founded, Turning Point USA, was extremely effective during the 2024 Presidential Election.

And whether he was loved or hated, he was recognized worldwide. His televised memorial service turned into a Christian revival. His videos are still reaching people long after his assassination. Some say the internet is forever and for the voice of Charlie Kirk, the messages he hoped would inspire people, that may well be true.

The spiritual war continues to this day. The spirit of chaos with its hunger for violence, pain, and death wars against a spirit of peace, truth, and life. In other words, the spirit of the devil fights against the Spirit of God. I am not a pastor or minister, but the truth of it all is spelled out in the Bible. It shows how we got to this point, where we are now, and where things will go. And may the Holy Spirit lead us to discover and understand those truths.

Ultimately, it’s not up to me or any of us when it comes to the topic of Charlie Kirk’s life and death. God is the final judge. Of Charlie. Of those who liked and admired him. Of those who did (and still do) despise, ridicule, and hate him. We are individual souls living in human bodies. These bodies will all die one day and what will matter is how we lived.

We all should take a good look at ourselves and how we’re living because one day, we will all stand before God and give an account of our lives. That’s what will determine our eternity.

I've been waiting and praying, asking the Lord to give me inspiration for lyrics for original, brand new Christian songs. And over a couple of days, He blessed me with the lyrics for this song. It took a while to get the music and vocals aligned to my standards using Suno A.I. but I'm pleased and I hope you'll enjoy it. These lyrics are meant to give encouragement in a crazy, uncertain world during times such as these.

Steve and Sue end up raising Steve's daughter with Malevolence that they named Leia. That's not a spoiler since the 2019 Mindfire novel shows that they raised her to adulthood. This is Sue's lullaby to Leia as an infant. I wrote the lyrics and made the music/vocals using Suno A.I.

From Unto Dust: A Mindfire Prequel, this song represents when the AR-MEN superhero team realized their teammates Steve Hamilton (Crusader) and Sue Sanchez (The Cat) had disappears and began an intensive search before determining that they had unwillingly time traveled. The AR-MEN are in 1992, so I used Trance/Electronic music for this instrumental made with Suno A.I.

This might be the happiest-sounding song I’ve ever written. It’s about the love story between Steve Hamilton (Crusader) and Sue Sanchez (The Cat) while they are back in mid-1930s North Texas (they're from early 1990s California) in Unto Dust: A Mindfire Prequel. I wrote the lyrics. The music is my homage to 1930s pop/jazz musicals. All it needs is a tap-dancing sequence - lol! Music/vocals made with Suno A.I.

"Fires Within And Without" is an orchestral instrumental about a 1930s male supervillain who has a role in Unto Dust: A Mindfire Prequel. He's not a mustache-twirling bad guy with grand ambitions. However, with flame powers, he's plenty deadly. I made the music in Suno A.I.

"The Shade" is a 1930s female superhero in Unto Dust: A Mindfire Prequel. As my lyrics in this song show, she thought she was the only super-powered being around and used her telepathy sparingly to not draw undue attention to herself. She's kind of an anti-hero, not going by a strict set of rules, just a general morality. It made her an interesting character to write, especially once she meets Steve and Sue (who do follow superhero rules established by the early 1990s). I made this in 1930s Jazz style with female lead vocals from that time period.

This song from Unto Dust: A Mindfire Prequel is made in 1930s pop style. I wrote the lyrics to "The Next Step" to focus on the main superhero characters(Steve - Crusader and Sue - The Cat)'s dilemma in the story — being transported against their will to 1930's North Texas. I made the music with Suno A.I. and it's a pretty fun little tune to listen to.

The time rift in Unto Dust: A Mindfire Prequel is almost a character itself as it plays a huge role in the story, shifting the main characters Steve Hamilton (The Crusader) and Sue Sanchez (The Cat) from 1992 to 1935. I felt it needed an orchestral instrumental to reflect its part in the story. Music made with Suno A.I.

The third main character in Unto Dust: A Mindfire Prequel is a woman named Angela. She's also the supervillain Malevolence. A tricky character to write, it also made this song an interesting challenge for the same reason. Angela developed extremely strong telepathic powers that initially traumatized her enough for her to disassociate and form a new personality to control the powers.

That personality called herself Malevolence and this song is from her perspective not long after she came to be. The tie-in to the story is that she is Steve Hamilton(Crusader)'s ex-girlfriend. And she becomes Leia Hamilton's biological mother. This song is Malevolence's favorite music style: 90s goth rock. I wrote the lyrics and made the music/vocals using Suno A.I.
