Writing update: I’ve recently updated Moon Tribe, a Christian fiction Science-Fantasy novel that is Book One in a duology. It started out as a short story idea then evolved into a full novel that allowed for a sequel. Originally, it took place in Joanna White's Republic Chronicles galaxy but she and I discussed it recently. Per her suggestion, I have adapted the duology to occur in my own fictional universe. This was an entirely amicable agreement and I appreciate her support and friendship in this endeavor.
The Moon Tribe manuscript is now complete and only needs editing. I don’t have a release date in mind yet but I have been working on Book Two for the last week. Yesterday, I reworked the book trailer for Moon Tribe with new graphics that reflect some of the changes. I hope you enjoy it!

Sometimes, you just gotta do things different. Back in 1992, I wrote a lot of tunes and a number of them ended up being instrumentals. This one is called "Half Past Midnight" and it originally had a kind of surf rock feel. But after I uploaded it to Suno A.I. and started making some remixes, I was inspired to see what it would sound like as an upbeat, groovy Reggae song. And that's the one that worked best. Enjoy!

I used to be a big fan of the Alan Parsons Project (I still am to a degree), so in 1992, I wrote an instrumental homage to them called "The Long Journey." I used keyboards, a drum machine, and a four-track recorder to make it (YouTube link to the original recording will be in the comments). I recently uploaded that recording to Suno A.I. and decided to try using orchestral instruments with it. And it turned out wow!

In 1988, I made lyrics for a song I called "In A Burning Cloud." I wrote the music on acoustic and electric guitar. The lyrics and mood of the song concerned the fears of nuclear war that were very prevalent at the time. I went into the studio with Tony Roberti and Leslie Steury and we recorded it. Tony played expert drums and had some spoken lines while Leslie lent some vocals. I played electric guitar, electric bass and sang on the original version (I'll put the link to it in the comments).
Recently, I uploaded the original version to Suno A.I. and decided to give it what I call "A Jazz Reimagining."
And let me say, you will never hear a prettier sounding song about nuclear war. It turned out very smooth, give it a listen. Isn't it worth it for the thumbnail alone?

In 1988, the little band/recording project called The Edge of Slumber which I'd started with Tony Roberti had a third member, Leslie Steury. She wrote the lyrics for this song. In the original recording, Tony played drums and sang. I played electric guitar and electric bass guitar. I uploaded the original recording to Suno A.I. and remixed it.

I wrote the lyrics and music for this song in 1987 using a keyboard, its built-in drum machine (it was a Casio) and a four-track recorder. I performed and sang it on the original recording. It's a strange dystopian-sounding song. Maybe I was a little influenced by George Orwell's 1984 and didn't know it. Anyway, I recently uploaded the recording to Suno A.I. and this is the resulting remix.

On a lighter note, this is a 2026 Suno remix of a song I made with Tony Roberti back in 1987 (when we called our recording project/band The Edge of Slumber). This song is called "We The People" but it's not political. Basically, it embodies the idealism of my 17-year-old self. It's a cool little tune and the remix is pretty fun and very upbeat. I would do a very different version on my solo album.

he following song represents a definitive piece of my history. I wrote and recorded the original version in 1989 after the breakup with my first love named Robin. Why this is significant is that she was instrumental in helping me turn my back on the occult at the end of 1988 (literally on New Years Eve). Then in January 1989, I asked her to be my girlfriend.
We'd been friends, we worked together at the Health Department and she was my first interracial relationship (she's Black). I was 19 and she was 23.
There were problems (working together being one of them). I was sincere in my feelings and attraction but inexperienced and immature. Also, my parents were against interracial relationships for racist reasons and I wasn't strong enough to stand up to them at the time. So, I hid a lot about the relationship from them while Robin introduced me to her family. At the same time, Robin had serious trust issues and I later learned she was struggling with her own sexuality. After six months, she broke up with me.
Any breakup hurts but I had to get therapy for this one. I wrote several songs to help process the emotional loss but two stood out: "A Distant Soul" which I wrote in 1989 and "Robin" which made it onto my studio album in 1990.
I did learn from my mistakes and the experience. Going forward, I did defend my interracial relationships, especially with Angel. That's a completely different discussion for another time.
The story with Robin has a twist, though. In 2010, I reached out to Robin when I found her on Facebook. I sent her a friend request and she accepted it. We exchanged 20 emails over the course of several days (I kept Angel in the loop the whole time) and not only settled things, but became friends again. And when Angel's and my daughter, Jeyli, was born in 2011, Robin congratulated us on Facebook. Sadly, Robin died of cancer in April 2012. I am grateful that after such a long time, we'd both matured. It showed me that maybe we should have just stayed friends but everything happens for a reason. And good did come of it.
I debated posting the song but "A Distant Soul" was never about casting aspersions or blame at Robin. I didn't use her name in the song, go into specific details or distribute the song back then. I was sharing my feelings about the relationship in music now that it was over. I made the original recording in late 1989 using electric guitar (with a lot of flanger and effects), electric bass guitar and I sang the vocals. I recently uploaded it to Suno A.I. and with this 2026 remix, you can understand the lyrics I wrote (it's not my vocals on the remix) and it turned out really nice.

In 1986, I wrote a song called “I Am The Moonlight.” I was a brand new musician pouring my heart and soul into learning the electric bass guitar and literally finding my own (singing) voice. And yet, choices I’d already made as a 16-year-old were taking over my world and shaping it in ways I didn’t yet understand. This would all be reflected in the song. And now, forty years later, modern technology has allowed me to take a new look at that song and discern even more about it.
Let’s start at the beginning: In 1984, my best friend encouraged me to attempt astral travel or the idea that a person could leave their physical body and travel to another dimension some call the Astral Plane of Existence. My friend claimed he could do it and though skeptical, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and tried to do it. I never left my body but in my mind’s eye, a door opened that should never have been opened. Though I didn’t know at the time, that figurative door led to what I now understand is the Spirit Realm.
Over the next year, my friend and I had “adventures” in the Astral Plane (which we just called “The Astral”) and became involved with female (sex) demons called succubi (the plural form of succubus) and other inhabitants there. Everything happened in our minds, there were no physical manifestations of these beings in the Physical Realm.
I go into much greater detail about our initial interactions with the Astral Plane in my Christian testimony video, so I’ll put the link for that HERE. Check it out after you finish this article. I think the original version of the song is in that video, too.
During those initial months between the end of 1984 and early 1985, my friend and I got deeper and deeper into our interactions with these beings (demons). We engaged in automatic writing (letting them write text, symbols and more through us) and we actually let them speak through us (to each other, we really didn’t involve other people at all). We had absolutely no clue how dangerous these practices were. We were 15 year old guys, had no romantic or sexual experience, and were the epitome of naive and thrill-seeking. In other words, we were the perfect targets for being ensnared by beings and things we knew very little about.
Then in June of 1985, something shifted. A different female being visited me in a wild, sensual dream. And the next time I visited the Astral Plane, she met me and called me husband. It was surprising, fascinating and compelling. She called herself Juno. Beautiful, seductive, and strong-willed, she offered me everything I thought I wanted in a relationship. She was a near-constant companion, we “spoke” telepathically in my mind, she bolstered my confidence and had unique perspectives on everyday happenings in my life. I fell in love with her, accepting her as my wife and lover. She and I were together for three and a half years from mid-1985 until New Years Eve of 1988.
In late August 1986, I bought my first musical instrument, an electric bass guitar, and amplifier with money I’d earned sacking groceries. I practiced the bass in my room every day and recorded a number of my early instrumental songs on a cassette recorder. Within a few months, I was inspired by Juno to write a song about her, both lyrics and melody, and she encouraged me to play the bass and sing at the same time (something I hadn’t tried yet). I improvised the music based on the lyrical structure. And I let her sing through me. It was still my voice, though the inflections were different. It took a couple of tries but I did record it. The song was called “I Am The Moonlight.”
The lyrics were meant to give dual-meaning from the beginning. In one regard, they seemed to be about the literal effects of moonlight: how it can be comforting, providing the light from the sun at night and being in the sky while most people dream. But the rest of the lyrics were Juno revealing things about herself. And now, forty years later, after putting that original recording through Suno A.I. to finally give its simple melody a fuller sound and a female vocalist, I’ve seen that the lyrics say even more than I thought they did.
It sounds beautiful but that is a deception. When you look at the lyrics from the point of view of a demon who is trying to invade your home and your life, it becomes scary.
Below are the actual lyrics:
I am the moonlight
You see me at night
And I relieve any fears
You have of the darkness
I am undeclared beauty
And undefined mystique
I am the light of the moon
And the pathway to dreams
My power soothes your thoughts
And releases your soul
I comfort you in your journeys
I warn you of the dangers of night
I am elegance
And posterity
I am woman
But not as women
I am unique
I am one
I see what you let me see
If you let me in your home
Through any opening
I am here for you
My light freely given
And nothing asked in return
I am what you make me to be
I am the moonlight
Juno and Lucina I have been called
“She who brings to light”
I am the moonlight
You see me at night
And I relieve any fears
You have of the darkness
Before I get to the song itself, I want to address something. People often ask, “Why would God allow something like this to happen?” They usually say that concerning natural disasters or other tragedies where people die. But they also ask that regarding many other evils that happen in the world. And the answer is always the same: Evil in the world comes from people having free will, choosing to either be misled or choosing/allowing themselves to be driven to do evil things.
In my case, I chose to explore the possibility of “Astral travel.” I could have turned my friend down and walked away. I responded to my own curiosity and that led to exposure to demons. It took me until 2023 to realize that I was literally groomed by demons. That was a devastating reality to accept but it’s true.
But God is greater. He freed me from that life at the end of 1988 (again, the details are in my testimony video), seven years before I accepted His Salvation through Jesus Christ. He rescued me so many times and I didn’t even know it was Him. God pardoned my association with demons and the occult along with all my other sins because I did them in ignorance. And now, I have a powerful testimony. I have seen the Darkness and I chose the Light. I am proud to live for Him now and I see an opportunity to expose the darkness.
Ironically, demons tell you who they are. They just try to sugarcoat it.
So here’s the 2026 version of “I Am The Moonlight”
The “marriage” (though it wasn’t a Holy one) with Juno appealed to my heart’s desire: to be married to a woman I loved and have a family with her. But it was on the devil’s terms (not the same as selling your soul; I didn’t do that) with hidden caveats. The main one was that I knew I couldn’t tell anyone about Juno or they’d think I was crazy. It was the mid-1980s and that stuff wasn’t talked about openly like it is now.
In contrast, my marriage with my wife, Angel, has lasted nearly ten times as long and God granted me my true heart’s desire: a wonderful, beautiful woman who loves me as I am (as I do her) and three incredible children. I tell people about her and our kids all the time. The Lord has granted us peace, love, and joy in spite of how crazy the real world is now.
The demons have influenced so many people to spread witchcraft and occult practices throughout the world, normalizing them in ways I never imagined possible. It’s even in some of the churches. My testimony doesn’t seem outlandish now. People believe it because they either have practiced the occult or know people who do (or watch them on the internet). Celebrities are open witches now.
In my view, all of this points to us living in the end times.
But I often tell people that it is a unique privilege to be chosen by the Lord to live for Him in these days. It is sad to see the state of the world but I pray for the lost and the persecuted Christians and those suffering every day.
Evil is real. But God is Holy and He is just as real. He is Love but He also has a wrath. That is why we need His Salvation — to rescue us from the wrath to come. It’s all in the Bible. Jesus is coming back. Christians need to stand up for Biblical principles and let themselves be led by the Holy Spirit, not the world, not man.
“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
- Isaiah 55: 6-7 (King James Version)
